LXE also offers a full range of turnkey services, including radio integration, project and installation management, wireless network design, technical support, and repair services. LXE Inc. designs rugged wireless computers and data collection solutions that will improve supply chain performance. Founded in 1970, LXE began as the Digital Products Group of EMS Technologies (NASDAQ: ELMG). EMS made its name by developing wireless communications systems for the US space program. EMS was quick to see the potential for the wider business community of the ultra-rugged and reliable mobile computing technology it had developed, so LXE was born as the first company to offer wireless computing products for use in supporting logistics and material handling applications. LXE today is a wholly owned subsidiary of EMS Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: ELMG). From rugged handheld and vehicle mounted wireless computers and data collection terminals, to wireless network infrastructure, to our award-winning customer support ? LXE's easy-to-use wireless computing products are as reliable as the people who install and support them. LXE also offers a full range of turnkey services, including radio integration, project and installation management, wireless network design, technical support, and repair services. We're absolutely committed to long-term customer service and support. LXE has been awarded, for the third consecutive year, the Mobile Star Award? for mobile computer customer satisfaction. We are a leader in service and support. This fact was confirmed by a recent research study completed by Moore and Symons that came to the same conclusion ? Service and Support is what we do better than anyone. * We understand that service and support does not end after installation, it's just the beginning. * We offer a more personal experience than our competitors. We are the best there is when it comes to a crisis. GP ASIA designs, install and commission LXE RF network for our customers.

Professional Services to conduct Facility Analysis

To optimize the performance of a wireless network, a complete Facility Analysis (FA) will be conducted to verify the coverage strengths and optimizations. Based on this complete FA a coverage guarantee will be made to our customers.

Purpose

The purpose of a FA is to determine the RF coverage of the specified facility and/or geographic area and RF point to point or RF point to multipoint connectivity. This process utilizes sophisticated transmitting and measuring equipment to determine signal strengths and interference within the desired service area. The FA aids the GP ASIA System Applications Specialist in determining the exact system components required to adequately satisfy the customer?s requirements. The warranty of RF coverage and RF point to point or RF point to multipoint is based on the configuration of the facility at the time of the analysis.

Procedure

The GP ASIA authorized team performs a RF propagation study of the coverage area as designated by the customer representative. During the performance of this study, factors that will affect RF data communications are considered and a complete RF map of all areas requiring coverage is generated. The following are the steps taken during the performance of a FA:

  • Field Engineer reviews coverage areas and non-coverage areas with the customer representative.
  • With the customer representative, the Field Engineer tours the facility and notes significant factors affecting RF propagation and potential antenna locations.
  • Field Engineer performs RF propagation study.
  • Field Engineer and customer representative review the study?s findings and discuss suggested antenna locations, access point locations, and cable routing paths with the customer representative.
  • Field Engineer determines final locations for the RF backbone components, cable routing paths, and cable lengths.
  • Field Engineer submits the report that is reviewed and verified. GP ASIA then generates and returns the final report to the customer.

Attention should be given to any future plans to alter the size of the facility. Different physical structures location such as new stack of containers could adversely affect the ability of the RF system to operate effectively and may cause the need to adjust the layout of the RF system to compensate.
